Sun worship (Soreth and Thoros) is one of the most practiced religions in Akkoria. Elan, being the capital of Akkoria, houses one of the largest of the Sun Temples.
Xavier was born Gerald Stoddard, son of Richard, the carpenter. He lived in Kor Elan for most of his life, helping his father with his work.
One day off work, wandering through the streets of Elan, Gerald came across a spectacular display of light magik emanating from the Sun Temple. He entered and was entreated to observe the ceremony. The sight awed and stunned him and made him a believer.
He returned home to inform his parents. Fortunately for Gerald, his mother understood the effect of divine insight, being a worshipper of Soreth. They bid him farewell.
Upon completing the training to join the Thorosian sect, he was renamed Xavier (which means “bright”) and given the implements of his faith: the white sword and golden Chainmail.
He was a neophyte in the Thorosian sect. Their function is to rid the world of undead and necromancy.
Xavier was killed in service of his faith, fighting hordes of undead in the land of Halgudar. Xavier was attempting to protect those that could not fight and stop a necromancer from controlling the area.
